Overview
I partnered with the City of Ontario’s Planning Department on the 2025 Model Colony Awards, a program recognizing residents, businesses, and neighborhoods dedicated to preserving historic properties. While the original scope focused on social video content, I identified an opportunity to strengthen the campaign through a more cohesive visual direction.
Role & Approach
Role: Graphic Design Lead
I led the visual execution of the campaign, expanding beyond video assets to develop a refined look and feel that balanced historical significance with contemporary design.
Creative Direction:
I created a sepia-toned visual identity inspired by historic photography and architecture, paired with modern typography to elevate the campaign while honoring the city’s heritage. The result was a cohesive, polished visual system applied across Instagram Reels and YouTube content.
Impact
The updated visual direction elevated the overall presentation of the awards and provided the Planning Department with a consistent, professional campaign identity that reinforced the importance of historic preservation.
Video example
This final video in a five-part series was crafted to highlight the 2025 Model Colony Award recipients during a City Council meeting. As the lead on shooting, directing, and editing, I ensured a cohesive narrative across the series. I strategically selected music, designed graphics, and created an animated title sequence to enhance the storytelling and engagement of the presentation.
