Overview

I partnered with the City of Ontario to support the 2024 State of the City event, an annual initiative highlighting key accomplishments, economic growth, and future priorities. The project required a strong, unified visual presence to engage both in-person attendees and a broader digital audience.

Role & Approach

Role: Graphic Design Lead
I led the development and execution of the event’s visual system, translating high-level civic messaging into clear, engaging design across multiple touch points. My approach focused on creating a flexible visual language that could scale across print, digital, and environmental assets used throughout the event while maintaining consistency.

Creative Direction

I designed a bold, modern visual identity that balanced professionalism with approachability, using clean typography, motion-forward graphics, and a cohesive color system. The visual direction was applied across event collateral, mailers, lanyards, and a custom GIF suite designed for social and digital distribution.

Impact

The campaign strengthened the City’s public-facing communications and extended the reach of the State of the City beyond the live event. The GIF suite generated over 3 million global views on GIPHY, demonstrating strong audience engagement and amplifying the city’s message across social platforms.
